Friends of the Library Council Report: March 29, 2022
Hello Friends,
Hopefully you enjoyed winter in a warm place while reading a book! The Friends of the Library Council would like to thank all who made the Annual Author’s Luncheon successful in October 2021.
We hope those who attended enjoyed the event and we want to thank you for supporting the Shelbyville—Bedford County Public Library through the Friends of the Library. The money raised from the luncheon will continue to support the library as they work toward updating and revitalizing the different areas both inside and outside the library. The Friends of the Library Council is ready to begin a new season! We will begin planning the Annual Author’s Luncheon for October 2022.
It has been nice to support the Shelbyville—Bedford County Public Library over the past year as they have been able to return to offering programs and community services for our local citizens. The Friends of the Library Council looks forward to participating and working with the library as they continue to serve our community!
The support and reinforcement the Friends Council provides is a vital part of the Shelbyville— Bedford County Library. As it takes a village to raise a child, it takes Friends of the Library to implement a successful library program. The village which contributes to the library is the dedicated staff, dependable volunteers, loyal patrons, and Friends of the Library. Being part of this endeavor is richly rewarding! The Friends of the Library Council helps with fundraisers such as the book sale, activities the library conducts for the community as well as help meet some of the needs of the library to conduct daily business. As members who have served on the Council for several years roll off, the Council welcomes new members. Feel free to let any member of the Council or library staff know if you are interested in participating as a member of the Friends of the Library Council. We would love to have you join us!
